State Police investigate fatal crash on the Taconic State Parkway

Yorktown, New York – On May 11, 2015 at approximately 5:39 a.m., New York State Police from the Hawthorne barracks responded to a one-car collision that occurred on the Taconic State Parkway in the area of the Croton Reservoir.

Investigation revealed that a 2004 Nissan Maxima, operated by 19-year-old Veronica Fernanda Cacho-Morocho, of Ossining, New York, was traveling northbound on the Taconic State Parkway. In the area of mile post marker 12.1, the Nissan exited the roadway off of the left shoulder, and subsequently struck a tree.

Cacho-Morocho was pronounced dead at the scene by the Westchester County Medical Examiner’s Office.
