SERINO SEEKS TO RECOGNIZE LOCAL TEACHERS

Nominations Open for ‘Classroom Champion’ Award

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY – In honor of ‘Teacher Appreciation Week,’ Dutchess County Executive Sue Serino is looking to celebrate local teachers who go above and beyond both inside and outside of the classroom. Students who attend school within Dutchess County are encouraged to nominate a teacher who they feel has made a difference in their life and has created a welcoming and positive learning environment.

“Our teachers continue to go above and beyond to find innovative and creative ways to educate our local students, and we are so grateful for the work they do,” said Dutchess County Executive Sue Serino. “Whether they are finding new ways to keep students engaged in the classroom, coaching a school sport, or serving as a mentor, the role educators play in the lives of their students is invaluable. I am thrilled to be able to recognize them through our ‘Classroom Champion’ award and look forward to hearing directly from students and families on the positive impact their teacher has made.”

Completed nomination forms are due back on Friday, May 17, 2023 and are available online at dutchessny.gov/Teacher. For more information, please call 845-486-2000 or email CountyExec@dutchessny.gov.

Teacher Appreciation Week is celebrated from Monday, May 6th to Friday, May 10th.
