Home Repair Services for Dutchess County Residents

Applications accepted now through August 31, 2023

Rebuilding Together Dutchess County (RTDC) is accepting applications for its Rebuilding Day home repair and accessibility modification program. These services are provided at no cost to qualified homeowners and focus on ensuring that individuals can live independently in safe, warm, dry, and healthy homes.

The deadline for applications to be considered for the 2024 Rebuilding Day program is August 31, 2023. Income-qualified Dutchess County homeowners, including seniors, persons living with a disability, military veterans, or parents with school aged children, are encouraged to apply.

The Rebuilding Day program takes a whole-house approach. Typical repairs can include replacing a roof or windows, addressing electrical or plumbing issues, fixing a porch, installing a ramp, bathroom accessibility modifications, and much more. By performing these types of repairs, RTDC helps homeowners stay in their homes for as long as they wish while working to revitalize communities and maintain affordable housing stock.

Neighbors served by the local nonprofit highly recommend their fellow Dutchess County residents apply. The daughter of Elizabeth of Poughkeepsie, a senior widow RTDC recently assisted stated that it was “a truly touching experience” seeing the work that RTDC and the dedicated volunteers who performed the repairs on her home committed themselves to. Ann of Wappingers Falls said, “I would recommend this program to anyone that needs the help and can’t do it on their own, they really take care of a lot more than I expected, and that means I can stay home safely.”

To request an application or ask questions, call the RTDC office at 845-454-7310. The applications and further details can also be found at www.RTDutchess.org.
