Obituary, Mary Batelic

Mary Batelic, 82  most recently of Bluefield, West Virginia, passed peacefully, on May 5, 2023, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.

            Born, February 25, 1941, in Scotland, Marlene, as she was known by family and friends, was the daughter of the late John and Marie Murphy. She came to the United States at the age of 18 and soon thereafter gained her American citizenship of which she was proud.

            Marlene was preceded in death by her husband, Mario Batelic, and sons Charles and Ammon. She leaves to carry on her legacy daughters Tracey Robinson, Tammy Burgoyne, Trudy Redd, sons Jack and Aaron Batelic, sons and daughters-in-law, grandchildren, brothers Jack and William Murphy, and many friends and relatives in Scotland, New York, and West Virginia.

            She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings until her health curtailed her activities.

           Graveside services will be held at the Monroe (N.Y.) Cemetery at 2:30 PM.

           Arrangements are under the direction of the Horn & Thomes, Inc Funeral Home, 83 East Main Street, Pawling, NY.
