The Pawling Rotary Club Takes a Field Trip!

The Tuesday, April 25th meeting of the Pawling Rotary Club took place at the South Street Station of the Pawling Fire Department, and District Chief Everett White was the perfect host. Chief White shared everything Fire House with the seventeen members who were in attendance.  After a  brief history, he took us on a tour of the exceptional equipment that is used to protect the community.
Rotary members were impressed!  Not only is the equipment superb, but the members of the volunteer fire department are extraordinarily well-trained and ready to tamp down any conflagration, big or small, they may encounter.
After the tour of the shiny, computer-enhanced vehicles, we were guided to the 911 memorial that sits near the entrance of the station.  Everett shared how the Pawling Fire Department retrieved, installed, and continues to value this precious relic of one of the darkest days in American history. Pawling Rotary Club members were in awe of all that they saw and heard. Rotarian and former Rotary President, Jeff Asher, succinctly stated,  “We are indeed fortunate to have people like Everett and the members of the Pawling Fire Department keeping Pawlingites safe.”
