Obituary, Theresa Patricia Spataro

Theresa Patricia Spataro, beloved wife of the late Felix “Sonny” Spataro of Carmel, NY;
was called to Heaven on Easter Sunday surrounded by family. Theresa was born on
December 7, 1939 in Philadelphia, PA. In 1957, she married the love of her life Felix
and started a beautiful family.
Theresa was most significantly known as the diligent bookkeeper and “shop mom” at
the family business, A&S Ignition Co. in Patterson, NY. For three decades, she worked
diligently to maintain the banking, post office visits, deliveries, cleaning and any
additional tasks that were needed. On her Saturdays and Sundays off, you would often
find her at the shop working.
She took great enjoyment in hosting family gatherings. She was an amazing cook,
decorator, gardener, seamstress and card player. She had the beautiful ability to make a
stranger feel most welcomed in her home. The casino trips with her family and friends were always memorable. She enjoyed reconnecting with her family in Philadelphia whenever she had the opportunity.
Theresa was proud of her Polish heritage. She would claim this to be a contributing.
factor in overcoming many serious health issues in the last five years of her life.
Theresa lived simply and cherished even the subtlest act of kindness. Theresa was a
blessing to this earth, it is only fitting that God would choose to call her home on the
holiest of days. We can all benefit from the examples she set in the way she lived daily.
Love big and do good in this world.
Theresa is survived by her son Joseph Spataro and his partner Carole Smith,
granddaughter Felicia (James) Duffy, grandson Andrew Spataro, their mother, Claudette
Spataro; her son-in-law Paul Pfersick, granddaughter Nicole (Tom) Caso,

Zamborsky, grandson Aidan Zamborsky, granddaughter Hailey Zamborsky, their father,
