Gary R. Butts, 66, a lifelong resident of Wassaic, NY, passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2023 at Sharon Hospital in Sharon, CT. Mr. Butts was a truck driver for Pawling Corporation in Pawling, NY and Taconic DDSO in Wassaic, NY retiring in 2019.
Born on October 10, 1956, in Sharon, CT, he was the son of the late William A. and Winifred (Sincerbox) Butts. On July 20, 1991, in Amenia, NY he married Carol Ann Wilkinson who predeceased him on November 25, 2019.
Mr. Butts was a life member of the Wassaic Fire Company. He was a friend of VFW Post #5444 in Dover Plains and a former member of the Amenia Masonic Lodge.
Mr. Butts is survived by two daughters, Michelle Bonavenia of Dover Plains and Jennifer Ennis, and her husband, Mark, of Bradenton, FL. He is also survived by a brother, William R. Butts of Wassaic; a sister, Wilma Eggers of Wassaic, NY; five grandchildren, Jeremy Morrison, Ally Burdick, Anthony Bonavenia, Shannon Renner, and Kohner Ennis and four great-grandchildren. Mr. Butts is also survived by his dear friend, Holly Whaley, and his beloved dog, Molly.
Calling hours will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Friday, April 14, 2023, at the Hufcut Funeral Home, 3159 Route 22, Dover Plains, NY. The Wassaic Fire Company will conduct firematic services at 11:30 a.m. Funeral services will take place at 12 noon at the funeral home with Rev. Clarice Murphy officiating.
