Carol Ann “Dee Dee” Maile, 75, of Wingdale, NY, passed away Saturday, March 11, 2023, at NY Presbyterian Hospital, Cortland Manor, NY.
Born in Poughkeepsie, NY on November 12, 1947, she was the daughter of the late James Somers, Sr., and Lelah (Brill) Somers of Dover Plains, NY. She attended Wingdale/ Dover schools and graduated from Dover High School. She married John “Gil” Maile on November 11, 1977; he predeceased her on May 23, 2018.
Dee Dee was a therapy aide at Wassaic Developmental Center, Wassaic, and Harlem Valley Psychiatric Center, Wingdale. She then worked for Pawling Agway Home & Garden for 20+ years, and later for 10 years at The Spirits of Pawling.
Dee Dee loved spending time with her family, including her two beloved cats, Bear and Georgie Girl.
In addition to her mother, Lelah, she is survived by her daughter, Deborah (Sprossel) Fleury, and grandson. Dylan; her sisters, Doreen Monica and husband, Steve, and Frances Horton, and her brother, James Somers.
A service for Carol and Gil will be at a later date.
