Laura Jane Place, 55, a longtime area resident, passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at Hartford Hospital in Hartford, CT. Laura was a certified nursing assistant at the Greenbriar Home in Millbrook, NY. Born on December 26, 1967, in Sharon, CT, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Ethel (Savoy) Hoose. Laura graduated from Webutuck High School. On September 12, 1987, in Dover Plains she married Charles Place, Jr. who survives at home. Laura was an avid crafter and enjoyed crochet. In addition to her loving husband, Laura is survived by three sons: Charles Place III, Brian Place and Steven Place all of Pine Plains, NY. She is also survived by two sisters, Lynn Snyder and her husband, John, of Amenia and Melanie Illescas and her husband, John, of Danbury; one nephew, John Illescas and four nieces, Samantha and Alexis Williamson, Briana Snyder and Miranda Hoose. She is also survived by a great-niece, Hazel Coons. Graveside services and burial will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at Valley View Cemetery in Dover Plains.
