On February 21, 2023, State Police arrested Sandra Berliner, 64, of Malta, NY, for two counts of Grand Larceny in the Third Degree, Falsifying Business Records in the First Degree, and Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree.

On November 11, 2022, at about 1:00 p.m., Trooper received a complaint from a Business based out of Wappinger Falls, NY, reporting that a past employee stole funds and items from the company. The investigation determined the company employed Berliner from August 2016 through August 2022. While working for the company, she collected funds in Coeymans, NY, and Cairo, NY, on behalf of the business but kept the money for herself without authorization or permission.  Berliner also altered business records in an attempt to cover up the missing funds. In addition, she took furniture owned by the company from an office in Stillwater, NY, without permission.

Berliner surrendered herself to SP Latham for processing. She was issued appearance tickets returnable to the Stillwater Town Court and the Cairo Town Court.  Berliner was arraigned at the Coeymans Town Court, where she was released on her own recognizance.
