Michael “Mike” Joseph Cea, 65, passed away Thursday, February 2, 2023 at home in Holmes, NY surrounded by his loving family.
Previously from Amenia, Mike was born in Manhattan on September 20, 1957, the son of the late Dominic J. Cea and Elizabeth M. (Morsut) Cea of Bennington, VT.
Mike was a master carpenter and building things was his passion. There was no project too big or small that he did not enjoy and complete with great pride. Cea’s Handy Service in Amenia did everything from building houses to additions, an art gallery, and many complex and high-end custom projects.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by two sons, Jason Cea and wife Casey of Holmes and Jeremy Cea and wife Kirsteen of Poughkeepsie; two step-daughters, Alana Jessie of Croton-on-Hudson, NY and Rebecca Jessie of Denver, CO; five grandchildren, Shelby B. Cea & Cameron J. Cea of Holmes, Brianna L. Cea & Christian M. Cea of Poughkeepsie, and Rieley S. Jessie-Gerelli of Croton-on-Hudson; two brothers, Richard Cea and wife Ruth of Carmel, NY and Robert Cea and wife Juneko of Germany; two sisters, Maryann Tallman of Florida and Elizabeth Aquaviva and husband Peter of Whittingham, VT; and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Wednesday, February 8th 2023 1-5 PM at the Beekman Fire House, 316 Beekman-Poughquag Road, Poughquag, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Memory of Mike may be made to Hudson Valley Hospice, 374 Violet Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
