Obituary, Oddny Pauline Olsen

Oddny Pauline Olsen, 82, passed away Wednesday, December 15, 2022, surrounded by her loved ones at the home of her daughter in Pawling.
Born in Brooklyn on September 15, 1940, she grew up there and then moved to Yonkers in 1957 where she lived until 1972, when she moved to Bedford Hills, living there until 2004 when she moved to Stormville.
She was the daughter of the late Johannes and Paula (Grannes) Rossland who immigrated to New York from Norway.  On November 30, 1957, she married Oddvar A. Olsen in Brooklyn; he predeceased her on December 1, 1996.
Oddny was a member of the Faith Lutheran Brethren Church and the Bedford Hills Women’s Auxiliary of the American Legion. She loved doing volunteer work for the various community organizations.
She is survived by her three sons, Ed Olsen of Bainbridge, NY, Todd Olsen of Brewster, and Rodney Olsen of Vergennes, VT; her daughter, Paula Olsen McGee of Pawling; her sister Gladys Pedersen of Staten Island; eight grandchildren, Shaun McGee, Breanna McGee Smith, & Brady McGee, Ryan, Matthew, & Julie Olsen, and Ryley & Iain Olsen; four great-grandchildren, Riley & Georgia McGee and Oliver & Piper Smith; several nieces and nephews; and many special friends.  She welcomed Deena McDonnell into her life and home and loved her family as her own.
In addition to her husband and parents, Oddny is predeceased by her brother Gordon Rossland.
There are no services at this time, but a Celebration of Life is planned for the summer.
Donations in Memory of Oddny may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
