DUTCHESS COUNTY COMPTROLLER ROBIN LOIS RELEASES Q3 UPDATE ON ALLOCATION AND SPENDING OF AMERICAN RESCUE PLAN (ARP) FUNDS 

Poughkeepsie, N.Y. – The Dutchess County Comptroller’s Office has released their Q3 special update report on the ARP federal funding, the “Dutchess Invests” spending plan, and actual expenditures/obligations of the County as of September 30, 2022. The County has received a total of $57,148,397 in ARP funds, the final installment received in June of 2022.

The four largest expenditures from the ARP funds include the (1) Youth Opportunity Union in the City of Poughkeepsie, of which $4,937,145 of $10,000,000 has been expended; (2) Housing Trust fund, of which $0 of $9,300,000 has been expended; (3) Homeless Housing & Case Management, of which $2,133,301 of $6,070,000 has been expended, and (4) an Emergency Communications System for the Department of Emergency Response, of which $3,721,321 of $6,000,000 has been spent as of September 2022.

“Our office continues to monitor and report on how the County spends this critical federal recovery money,” said Comptroller Lois“Such a large influx of funds requires diligent oversight to ensure taxpayer dollars are spent appropriately and wisely.”
