Obituary, Roberta “Bobby” Jean Elting Puff

Roberta “Bobby” Jean Elting Puff, a loving sister, mother and grandmother passed away on November 24, 2022 surrounded by her loving family.

Roberta was born on February 21, 1948 to Earl and Geneva (Fisher) Elting in Carmel NY. After Roberta graduated from Brewster High School, she furthered her education at the Harlem Valley School of Nursing and at SUNY New Paltz.

After graduating with a degree in nursing, she continued working at Harlem Valley Psychiatric Center and then at Ocala Health & Rehabilitation Center that spanned over 45 years.

On March 7, 1982, Roberta married Kurt B. Puff, in Dover Plains NY who predeceased her on June 3, 1998. Roberta and Puff had six children Lawrence (Trisha) Laundry, Troy (Felicia) Laundry, Susan Puff Coppola, Sharon (Charles) Wenderoth, Deborah Byram and Kurt (Maria) Puff.

Treasured memories will be forever in the hearts of her loving grandchildren Mackenzie, Paul, Ashley, Rozario, Taylor, Lauren, Kurt, Julia, Luke, Sophia, Kayleigh, Arden, Caden, Brennan and her thirteen great-grandchildren.

Roberta was predeceased by her parents and her brother-in-law Robert H. Johnson Jr. She is survived by siblings Rhonda L. Johnson, Rolinda Luther, William A. (Denise) Elting, her cousin Brenda (Sean) Hamilton and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Roberta loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed traveling, cruising, reading, ceramics, crafting and Friday night dinner club.

The Florida services were held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at Roberts Funeral Home-East Chapel, 2739 SE Maricamp Road, Ocala FL.

The New York service will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Friday, December 9, 2022 at the Hufcut Funeral Home, 3159 Route 22, Dover Plains, NY. Graveside services and burial will follow at 1 p.m. at Raymond Hill Cemetery, 165 Route 52, Carmel, NY.
