Obituary, Judith Anne Brown

Judith Anne Brown, 82, passed away Friday, November 25, 2022 at Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital, Poughkeepsie, NY.

A recent resident of Salt Point, she was a resident of Dover Plains for most of her adult life.  Born in Poughkeepsie on October 6, 1940, she grew up in Pawling, one of four children of the late Merwin and Edna (Liller) Osborn.  On July 1, 1969 she married Joseph Brown in Patterson, NY; he passed away in 2008.

Judy was a bus monitor for many years for the Dover School system, later in Westchester County at the New York School for the Deaf in White Plains.

Judy was a former bingo enthusiast who would help anyone in need.  She volunteered at the Dover Thrift Shop and delivered Thanksgiving food baskets.

She is survived by her son Kyle and his wife, Violet, of Amenia, NY and her daughter Jody Martin and her husband, Randy, of Salt Point, NY; her brother Neil Osborn of Dover Plains, NY; six grandchildren Khoriasa and husband Jimmy Ruffell of Pleasant Valley, NY, Denise Martin and her significant other, Blane, also of Pleasant Valley, Brett Martin of Salt Point, and Anthony. Elizabeth, and Makayla Brown, all of Amenia; three great-grandchildren, Shaelyn, Maddisyn, and Eleanor Ruffell, all of Pleasant Valley; her loving dog, Ebony; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is predeceased by her twin sister, Joyce Kennedy and brother James Osborn.

Family and friends may pay their respects on Tuesday, November 29th at the Horn & Thomes, Inc Funeral Home, 83 East Main Street, Pawling, NY 4-7 PM.  A graveside service will be conducted on Wednesday at 11 AM at Pawling Cemetery.
