Dutchess County Transportation Council Unveils New Logo;
Celebrates 40 Years; Receives National Recognition
The DCTC has recently been recognized by the Association of Metropolitan Planning Organizations as its honorable mention winner for Outstanding Overall Achievement for a large-area MPO for Moving Dutchess Forward, the DCTC’s innovative 25-year transportation plan for Dutchess County, developed in partnership with FHI Studio and Dutchess County Government’s Office of Central and Information Services. For more information about what the DCTC does, please visit us at www.dutchessny.gov/dctc.
The DCTC is currently in the midst of a 45-day comment period for its draft Public Participation Plan, the council’s new outreach strategy to better connect with the public and encourage their involvement in the transportation planning process. The Participation Plan offers a menu of virtual, in-person, and hybrid tools to engage people with the DCTC’s work, which includes regional and countywide transportation plans, corridor-based studies, and local projects such as pedestrian plans and safety analyses. The Participation Plan also outlines ways the DCTC will engage populations that have historically been excluded from the planning process. The DCTC invites residents to read the plan online and offer feedback through December 12, 2022. Comments can be submitted by email to dctc@dutchessny.gov, by phone at (845) 486-3600, or by mail to DCTC, 85 Civic Center Plaza, Suite 107, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
