Joan Edna Ciccone, 91, a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, in Pawling, NY, surrounded by her two granddaughters.
Joan was born on October 13, 1931 to parents Bernard and Edna Schuster in Newark, New Jersey. Joan will be remembered for her loving smile, her contagious laughter and her love of God.
In addition to her parents, Joan was predeceased by her brother Buddy Young, first husband Nicholas Colonna, second husband Lawrence Ciccone, and daughter Darlene Colonna.
Joan is survived by her daughter Theresa Jones (Robert) of Virgina; grandchildren Jennifer McLeroy (Christopher) of Poughkeepsie, NY; Daniel Betell, Jr. of Colorado, Kevin Betell (Bryanne) of Alaska, and Tatiana Bufi (Alexander) of Hopewell Junction, NY; and great-grandchildren Daniel, Victoria, Nicholas, Madison, Olivia, Molly, Sophia, and Matthew.
Per Joan’s wishes, she will be laid to rest beside her late husband, Nicholas, and daughter, Darlene, at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover, New Jersey. The family will hold a private graveside service.
