Bruce R. Yerks 85 died 9/26/22 The Pines in Poughkeepsie.
Bruce was born in Sharon, CT. to Lester and Elizabeth Yerks. He was raised in Amenia and then resided in Pleasant Valley, NY. Bruce was in the US Navy and served as radioman which inspired him to pursue Electronics. He married Dianne Bean in 1960 and started Bruce TV. He enjoyed running Bruce TV as a lifelong career, especially having to do “work” trips on the island St Martin several winters bringing satellite TV to a customer. He was a longtime member of Pleasant Valley Lions Club. He and Dianne were seasonal campers and managed the former Ellis Woods Campground a few years. Bruce loved playing Cribbage and had a large collection of boards. Bruce enjoyed skiing and took some hang gliding lessons. He enjoyed years of Fri. night pinochle with the guys. Bruce and Dianne were married 61 yrs. Dianne predeceased him Dec. 2021. He leaves behind children Todd Yerks of Wassaic, NY. Ren Adams and David of Millbrook, NY. His Sister Phyllis and Donald Haight of Fla. Grandchildren Tara Adams of Brooklyn, NY. Ian Adams Millbrook and Rachel Yerks of Baltimore, MD. Niece and nephews.
