Dutchess County Comptroller Robin Lois Releases Update on Allocation and Spending of American Rescue Plan (ARP) Funds
The Dutchess County Comptroller’s Office has released their special update report on the ARP federal funding, the “Dutchess Invests” spending plan, and actual expenditures/obligations of the County as of June 30, 2022. Dutchess County has received a total of $57,148,397 in ARP funds, of which $28,574,199 was received in May of 2021, and the second installment for the same amount received in June of 2022.
“Our office will continue to monitor and report on how the County spends the federal recovery money, ensuring transparency of these taxpayer funds,” said Comptroller Lois.
The report details the changes made in fund allocation from the Dutchess Stadium to much-needed infrastructure investment, highlighting the current three largest expenditures planned:
- $10,000,000 – Towards the $25 million investment in the Youth Opportunity Union in the City of Poughkeepsie
- $9,300,000 – Towards a $12 million investment in Housing & Infrastructure (Housing Trust Fund)
- $6,070,000 – Homeless Housing & Case Management
“The American Rescue Plan funds were entrusted to local governments to directly assist the community in response to the public health and economic emergency caused by the COVID-19 pandemic,” stated the Comptroller. “It’s a significant benefit to County taxpayers that the Administration shifted funding from Dutchess Stadium renovations to the much more appropriate community investment in housing and infrastructure.”
