State Police investigating a fatal car versus motorcycle accident in the town of Copake

On July 31, 2022, at approximately 10:50 a.m., State Police were called to the intersection of County Route 7A and Tamarac Road in the town of Copake for a report of car versus motorcycle accident.

A preliminary investigation determined that the driver of the vehicle, failed to yield when attempting to make a left to travel westbound on County Route 7A and cut into the path of the motorcycle.

The driver of the motorcycle, Michael T. Manetta, 54, of Red Hook, hit the rear driver’s side of the vehicle, causing him to be ejected.

Manetta died at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
