Gun arrest in Southeast

Southeast, New York – On July 22, 2022, the New York State Police from the Brewster barracks arrested Bryon A. Bloomfield, age 24, of Norwalk, CT, for Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd degree, a class C felony, and Criminal Possession of a Firearm, a class E felony.

At approximately 11:35 a.m., Troopers conducted a traffic stop of a 2014 Volkswagen on State Route 22 for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law.  Investigation found the operator, Bryon Bloomfield, had a suspended license and expired registration.  Further investigation found Bloomfield in illegal possession of a Taurus G2C 9mm handgun.

Bloomfield was arraigned before the Honorable Judge Leader of the town of Patterson Court and remanded to the Putnam County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or $3,000 bond.  He is next scheduled to appear before the town of Southeast Court on August 18, 2022, at 1:00 p.m.
