New York State Police arrest a Trooper  for Sexual Abuse

PRESS RELEASE

On July 23, 2022, the New York State Police arrested  32-year-old Matthew A. Stivala of Monroe, NY for Criminal Sex Act 1st degree, ( B felony) 2 counts of of Sex Abuse 1st degree Forcible Compulsion (class D Felony) and Forcible Touching (misdemeanor). The charges stem from multiple incidents involving Mr. Stivala and a victim who were known to each other. Mr Stivala was arrested in the town of Monroe, arraigned and remanded to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $75,000 cash bail, $150,000 partially secured bond or $200,000 bond. He is scheduled to reappear in the Village of Harriman Court on July 27, 2022, at 2 p.m. Mr Stivala is currently employed as a New York State Trooper assigned to Troop T.
