Janos Imre, a 7-year resident of Poughquag, NY and previously of Pawling, passed away at his home, surrounded by his loving family on Monday, July 11, 2022, at the age of 91.
Born in Hungary on September 20, 1930. He was the son of Joseph and Terez (Nagyfi) Imre. He married Maria Petnehazi in Hungary in 1956; she survives at home.
Janos worked for many years as the estate manager and caretaker for Dr. Norman Vincent Peale on Quaker Hill.
In addition to his wife, Maria, he is survived by his son, Joseph, also of Poughquag.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at 9:30 AM at St. John’s Church, 39 East Main Street, Pawling. Burial will follow in Quaker Hill Cemetery, Church Road, Quaker Hill, Pawling, NY.
