Obituary, Linda Mary Dick

Linda Mary Dick, 73, of Millbrook, NY, passed away on June 30th, after a courageous battle with cancer. Linda was born on May 26th, 1949 to Catherine and Harold Brown in Brooklyn, NY. Linda was one of nine siblings and is preceded in death by brother Robert, and sisters Florence, and Katherine. Linda is survived by her husband of 38 years, James Dick. The two were married on September 21st, 1985 in Stanfordville NY.  Together, they raised her three children: Abe, Shane and Linda. In the year of 2000 they took in granddaughter, Ashley, raising her as their own. Linda was always supportive of her children, going to sporting events, camp outs, birthdays, and cherishing family time.
Linda is survived by her three children; Abe, Shane & Linda Grandchildren, Tiffany, Ashley, Thomas, Sean, Mikey, Riley, Liam, Christina, and Gianna; Great- Grandchildren; Sophia, & Jordan Siblings; Cecilia, Terri, Thomas, James, & Harold.
Linda was a dedicated counselor, and a natural born substance abuse advocate. She spent many years as a secretary, and furthering her credentials to a CASAC.  Linda worked as a counselor at the Dutchess County Department of Mental Hygiene, CASAC at Rhinebeck Lodge, Director at Daytop Village Millbrook, and Director at Bridgeback in Kingston.
Everyone who knew Linda, knew she was a realist. She had a way with words that made people smile. In Linda’s free time she loved going for walks, watching movies, reading, sewing, spending time with the Al-Anon ladies, and sitting by the stream at home with her husband. She spent many years volunteering as a member of the Millbrook Rescue Squad. Linda touched many hearts and will be missed deeply.
