TRAFFIC ADVISORY ISSUED FOR THE TOWN OF PLEASANT VALLEY

The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office has issued a traffic advisory for the Town of Pleasant Valley effective Saturday, June 11, 2022 for the Dutchess County Volunteer Firemen’s Association Annual Parade.

At approximately 3:30pm line-up for parade participants will begin. All parade participants will be directed to Netherwood Road (CR 41), to Fox Run Road, to Malone Road. Parade participants will line-up on Malone Road. No traffic will be permitted to enter Malone Road from Salt Point Turnpike during this time.

At approximately 4:45pm, Salt Point Turnpike (SR 115) will be closed between Netherwood Road (CR 47) and Hollow Road (CR 14). There will be no vehicular traffic movement on Salt Point Turnpike within the hamlet of Salt Point.

At approximately 5:00pm, the Dutchess County Volunteer Firemen’s Association Annual Parade will begin. Parade participants will travel from Malone Road, left onto Salt Point Turnpike and end at the Helen Aldrich Park. It is anticipated that road closures will last for about one hour, until the completion of the parade. No parking will be permitted along the parade route on Salt Point Turnpike.

Motorists not attending or participating in the parade are encouraged to avoid this area and seek alternate routes during the event. If traveling in the area, motorists are urged to use extreme caution and be aware of pedestrians. Business patrons should also understand that once the parade starts, vehicular traffic will be restricted, and travel will be delayed.
