BRIAN D. KELLY APPOINTED AS DEPUTY COMPTROLLER FOR DUTCHESS COUNTY 

Poughkeepsie, N.Y. – Effective May 2022, Deputy Comptroller Karl Schlegel resigned his position with the Office of the Dutchess County Comptroller to serve the Dutchess County Department of Behavioral and Community Health as their Director of Fiscal Services.

 

In an e-mail to County employees, the Comptroller reflected on the Deputy Comptroller’s competency and willingness to serve Dutchess County during his time in office.

 

“Karl has been a tremendous asset to the Comptroller’s office and valued partner to me. He has been instrumental in the daily functioning of our office and responsible for implementing many of the process improvements over the last four years.” 

 

Comptroller Lois has appointed Brian D. Kelly to serve as Deputy Comptroller for Dutchess County. Mr. Kelly will be leaving a 6-year tenure with the New York State Senate, where he served as Deputy Legislative Director.

 

“I’m excited to welcome Brian to our team in the Comptroller’s office. I have no doubt his varied Government experience, education, and work ethic will serve the Office of the Dutchess County Comptroller well,” said Comptroller Lois.
