Obituary, Michael T. Leary

Pine Plains – Michael T. Leary, 46, passed away suddenly on May 22, 2022, while canoeing the Conewango creek with his friends. He was born on August 17, 1975, in Poughkeepsie. The son of Thomas and Frances Leary. He was a graduate of Rhinebeck High School, who then earned his associates in Agricultural Science from SUNY Cobleskill.

Michael was a farm manager most recently for Prospect Hill Farmstead. He loved to be around the farm, and enjoyed the outdoors. An avid hunter who took regular trips out west in pursuit of elk and mule deer.

Michael is survived by his loving wife April, his four children; Mickayla Leary and her Fiancé Dylan Eiffert, Mattison Leary (Haley Strang), Morgan Leary (Gavin DiMarco) and Maxwell Leary. His beloved dogs and grand-pups, Bleu, Remington, Bandit, Bailey & Koe. His mother, Diane Leary and her companion Robbie Mathieu, his father, Tommy Leary. His father-in-law Sal and Lydia Artal, Sister-in-law Ali Artale. His brothers in-laws Michael “Mikey” and Brian ” B ” Treuhaft, Sister-in-law Dawn and Joel Shutman and his mother in law Donna Rae Treuhaft. In addition to his lifelong friends; Jon Prezzano, David Martin, David “Duke” Kuhn, and Brendan Szabo, and his cow family friends, Arthur Hyde who was a father figure to Michael. Matt “Boss Matt” Cichetti, Jack “D’Head” Meccariello, Anthony “The Hippie” Silva, Brandon & Kevin Bouthillette, John Inkey, George Donnelly, Jason Kadding, and Garrett Matteo. Michael is also survived by his sister Christine (Herbie) Baright and his brother Steven Leary. In addition to nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
