Obituary, Anna M. (Aliperti) Johnson

Anna M. (Aliperti) Johnson passed away peacefully surrounded by love in Greensboro, Georgia on May 6, 2022.

Anna, born in 1939, grew up in Brooklyn, New York where she married her high school sweetheart, Robert (Bob) Johnson, who predeceased her in 2016, after 58 years of marriage.  The couple moved to Patterson, New York in 1972 where they spent many happy years raising their family.

Anna was proud of her secretarial and computer skills, and she enjoyed reading novels and volunteering her time to help others.  She was a lifetime member of the Patterson Women’s Auxiliary where she served as chaplain for many years; she also volunteered at the Pawling Resource Center doing everything from book-keeping to putting together care packages.

Anna loved to travel.  She and Bob enjoyed winters at their home in Clearwater, Florida and traveled nationally and internationally on many vacations, often finding white, sandy beaches wherever they went.

While Anna had many interests, her favorite thing to do was spend time with family.

According to Anna, her children were the best, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren could do no wrong.  Anna is survived by her three children:  Theresa (Keith) Clarkson of Myrtle Beach, SC; Donna (Timothy) Basting of Dover Plains, NY; and Robert (Jeannine) Johnson, Jr. of Greensboro, GA.  She is also survived by eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and many loving family members and close friends.

A service will be held at Horn & Thomes, Inc Funeral Home, 83 East Main Street, Pawling, NY on Friday, May 20, 2022 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a remembrance ceremony beginning at 7:15 p.m.  A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at 10 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Pawling, NY.
