Obituary, Morgan J. Pulver, Jr

Morgan J. Pulver, Jr, passed away in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at the age of 96.
Born in Wingdale, NY, on June 6, 1925, he was the son of the late Morgan J. Pulver, Sr and Ruth Emma Hyatt.  He entered the US Navy on June 2, 1943; he served on the U.S.S. West Virginia in the Pacific from November 1943 until February 1946, being discharged February 25, 1946.
After the war, he was a locomotive engineer for the New York Central Railroad for over 30 years, retiring in 1985.
He married Elizabeth (Libby) A. Macartney on October 3, 1948, and they celebrated their 73rd-anniversary last year; she survives at home.
He is predeceased by his parents and brothers Everett (Doris) and James (Charlotte).
He was a very loving husband and father and a very proud father, grandfather, and great-grandfather! Besides being devoted to his family, he loved to travel with Libby. They enjoyed cruising in the Caribbean and the Hawaiian Islands, traveling to Europe, and attending the annual Navy reunions for his battleship.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his daughter Eileen Pavletic and husband, Frank, of Fox Lake, IL; two grandsons, John and his wife Courtney and Thomas; three great-grandchildren, Katherine, Henry, and Olivia; his youngest brother Fred and wife Helen of Cobleskill, NY; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held in Pawling Cemetery, Pawling, NY, at 10:30 AM on May 14, 2022. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested for the American Cancer Society.
