Obituary, Joseph Francis Brown

Millerton – Joseph Francis Brown, 77, a resident of Millerton, NY for over 40 years died unexpectedly on Friday, April, 1, 2022 at his home in Millerton. Joe was a self-employed professional residential and commercial painter for over 20 years prior to his retirement in 2012.

Born December 20, 1944 in Brooklyn, NY he was the son of the late Arthur F. and Anna (Conroy) Brown. Joe was a graduate of New York City Public Schools and enlisted in the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War before being honorably discharged. On July 21, 1993, in Millerton, NY he married Kathryn M. Johnson. Mrs. Brown survives at home in Millerton. In his spare time, Joe enjoyed boating on the Hudson River and was an avid fisherman and hunter.

In addition to his loving wife, Joe is survived by three children; Michele Morlino and her husband Brian of Dover Plains, NY, Joseph Brown and his wife Julie of Dover Plains and Deborah Brown of Florida; two stepchildren, Christine Hay and her husband Brian of Millerton and Patrick Quinn and his wife Lisa of Copake, NY; seven grandchildren, Joseph Brown, Heather Hay, Megan Hay, Jesse DeGrosso, Samantha Brown, Faith Brown and Colleen Langs; five great grandchildren, Grady, Haven, Darius, Gianna and Joey, his brother-in-law Joseph Pisanto and several nieces and nephews and many friends. In addition to his parents, Joe was predeceased by his sister, Tomasina Pisanto and his nephew Robert Dexter.

There will be no calling hours or funeral.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Dutchess County SPCA, 636 Violet Avenue, Hyde Park, NY 12538.
