Construction to Begin on Intersection
Improvement Project in Lagrange

Poughkeepsie…The Dutchess County Department of Public Works (DPW) has announced preliminary construction work, including tree clearing, to improve the intersection of Noxon Road (CR-21) at Smith Road and Maloney Road in the Town of Lagrange is expected to begin the week of March 14th, weather permitting, with the rest of construction beginning in late June to minimize traffic impacts and interruptions to school bus routes.

The project will improve traffic safety at the intersection by altering the elevation of Noxon Road. Noxon Road will remain open to traffic during construction with alternating lane closures however, Smith Road and Maloney Road will be closed at the intersection starting in early summer. Detours around the project will be posted along Smith Road, Bushwick Road, Titusville Road (CR-49), Daley Road, and Maloney Road. View a map of the detour online. The project is anticipated to be complete in the fall.

Motorists are advised to plan for additional time and to exercise extra caution near the construction site, obey the posted speed limits, traffic advisory signs, and the directions from flaggers in the work zone to ensure the safety of workers and other motorists.
