Obituary, Agnes A. Capizzuto

POUGHQUAG – Agnes A. Capizzuto, age 83, of Poughquag, formerly of the Bronx, passed away at home surrounded by her loving daughters. She was born in the Bronx on March 22, 1938 to Louis and Fannie Coppola (nee’ DiNiscia).

Agnes previously worked as a secretary for Con Edison in Manhattan, where she met her husband George, who predeceased her in 2017. They were married on January 7, 1961 at Our Lady of Solace in the Bronx. She also spent many years as a homemaker, raising her two daughters, and eventually went back to work as a dental assistant for various dental offices.

She is survived by her beloved daughters: Diane Capizzuto and Denise Holzberger of Poughquag; her grandchildren: Christina Holzberger of Brooklyn, and Danielle Holzberger of Laverne, CA; her siblings: Catherine Sciarabba (Mike) and Louis Coppola (Marilyn), as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend their thanks to Agnes’ special friend and caregiver Tina Ramos; Cindy Rendwick from Hudson Valley Hospice, as well as the entire Hudson Valley Hospice team for their kindness and compassion.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the family will be keeping services private. Agnes will be laid to rest with her beloved George at St. Denis Cemetery.
