Obituary, Yola M. Palermo

Yola M. Palermo, 94, a longtime resident of the Dover Plains, NY, died on Friday, December 31, 2021 at Sharon Hospital in Sharon, CT. Born on October 27, 1927 in the Bronx, NY, she was the daughter of the late Gregory and Antoinette (Fioriti) Montana. On April 22, 1951 in the Bronx, NY, she married the love of her life Anthony Palermo who died on January 5, 1993.

Mrs. Palermo was an active member of the Dover-Wingdale Senior Citizens and a volunteer at the Center of Compassion in Dover Plains. She was also a parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Church in Dover Plains.

Mrs. Palermo is survived by three daughters, Paula Eaton, and her husband, Paul, of Dover Plains, NY; Annette Ciavirella, and her husband, Michael, of Bogota, NJ and Linda Waller, and her husband, Alan, of Yorktown Heights, NY. She is also survived six grandchildren, Melissa Wolfmann, Anthony Eaton, Michael Ciavirella, Mark Ciavirella, Alyson Cifu and Chelsea Lopez and nine great grandchildren, Jake, Emma, Grace, Tommy, Brianna, Charlotte, Quinn, Mikey and Anthony.

Besides her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Anthony Montana and her sister, Gloria Maruzzella.

Calling hours for immediate family and close friends due to COVID restrictions, will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at the Hufcut Funeral Home, 3159 Route 22, Dover Plains, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on 10 a.m. on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 62 Mill St., Dover Plains, NY.
