Obituary

Christopher Shawn Carroll, 55, a lifelong resident of Amenia, NY, passed away on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY. Chris was a self-employed landscaper in the area.

Born on September 28, 1966 in Sharon, CT, he was the son of Philip T. Carroll, Sr. of Amenia, NY, and the late Judith Ann Baker. Chris was a graduate of Webutuck High School class of 1984. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed playing baseball and watching stock car racing. He also enjoyed the 1980s and country music. Chris was a very caring person who loved his family and friends.

In addition to his loving father, Chris is survived by a brother, Philip T. Carroll, Jr. and his wife, Barbara Wadsworth, of Amenia, NY and two step-sisters, Ellen France of Milledgeville, GA and Christine Michelsen of New York, NY. He is also survived by three nieces, two nephews and a step-mother, Young Carroll. In addition to his mother, Chris was predeceased by a brother, James W. Carroll and a niece, Brittany Carroll.

Calling hours will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, December 20, 2021 at the Hufcut Funeral Home, 3159 Route 22, Dover Plains, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at Immaculate Conception Church, 4 Lavelle Rd., Amenia, NY with Rev. R. Kent Wilson officiating.
