Westchester Woman Charged With Felony Possession of Forged Instrument

Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports the arrest of a Westchester County woman on a felony charge of criminal possession of a forged instrument.

On February 4, 2015, a Town of Patterson business owner filed a complaint with the Sheriff’s Department concerning discrepancies in the business bank accounts. An investigation was conducted which resulted in the arrest of Kelly Grady, 41, of 4 Dove Court, Croton-on-Hudson, New York. Ms. Grady was an employee at the business with access to the checking accounts. The investigation revealed that Ms. Grady was in possession of forged checks from the business and would cash the checks. On April 22, 2015, Ms. Grady surrendered herself to the Sheriff’s Department and was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the Second Degree, a felony. Ms. Grady was processed and released in her own recognizance pending a future appearance in the Town of Patterson Justice Court to answer the charge.

If found guilty of the felony charge, the defendant could face up to seven years in a New York State Correctional Facility and a fine of at least $5,000.00.
