Lagrange, New York – October 25, 2021, the State Police in Poughkeepsie would like to remind members of the community to secure their vehicle properly.

Troopers are investigating the theft of two vehicles from this past weekend in Lagrange and East Fishkill.  Both cars were left unsecured in the homeowner’s driveway with the vehicle keys inside.

Please always lock your vehicle, even in your own driveway.  Close all windows including sunroofs.  Park in well-lit areas.  Never leave your vehicle unattended while it is running.  Never leave keys, valuables, bank cards or personal identification in a vehicle even for short periods of time.

Community members can further assist in preventing these crimes by remaining vigilant and reporting any signs of suspicious activity, whether it be a person, vehicle, or noise, immediately to local law enforcement.  Questions or concerns can be directed to any Trooper at the New York State Police by calling (845) 677-7300.
