Catherine M. Perez, 90, a 50-year resident of Poughquag, NY, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, at her home Tuesday, October 5, 2021.
Born in Queens on August 22, 1931, she was the daughter of John and Margaret (Ryan) Varley and wife of Carlos Perez.
Before retiring, Catherine was a supervisor at the record center at Chemical Bank in Pawling.
Catherine loved her family unconditionally. She was an avid reader and loved music, especially Irish music; she loved knitting blankets and scarfs for everyone.
She is survived by her husband, Carlos of Poughquag; son Charles Perez and partner JoAnne D’Amico of Hopewell Junction; daughter Cathleen (Perez) Casey and husband Peter also of Hopewell Junction; son Christopher Perez and wife Laura of Poughquag; grandchildren Chad Perez and partner Jill Pajer of Hopewell Junction, Stephanie (Casey) Rosado and husband Luis of Wappingers Falls, Karissa Perez of Hopewell Junction, Shawn Casey of Hopewell Junction, Juston Casey and partner Madison Guillet of Wappingers Falls, Christopher Perez and partner Ruby Zampko of Poughquag, and Emma Perez of Poughquag.
A Memorial mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 23rd at 11 AM at St. John’s Church, 39 East Main Street, Pawling, NY. Burial will be in The Clove Valley Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Catherine’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Cancer Society.
