Robert Francis Simmons, Jr. passed away Sunday, October 3, 2021, at Montefiore Hospital in New Rochelle, NY; he was 67.
A resident of Pawling for 28 years, previously of Patterson, NY, he was born in Peekskill, NY on March 24, 1954, one of four children born to the late Robert F. Simmons, Sr and Stella Degloyer. He married Edith A. Mahoney on April 22, 1972 and they celebrated their 49th anniversary this year.
Robert was a bus driver for the Putnam area Rapid Transit in Carmel and was an avid amateur Ham radio operator.
He is survived by his wife Edith; son Robert F. Simmons III of Wingdale; two daughters, Loretta Lynn Lashomb and husband Chris of Wingdale and Michelle Lee Simmons of Wingdale; brother Dave Simmons of Pawling; two sisters, Judy Zinzer of Lincolndale, NY and Cathy Gutman of Millbrook; two step-sisters, Cheryl Green of Dover and Robin Simmons of Newburgh; eight grandchildren, Robert Quinn Simmons, William Gulio, Christopher Lashomb, Dylan Lashomb, Jaxon Duncan, Skylar Lashomb, Samantha Lashomb, and Charles Brazce; and many nieces and nephews.
