Obituary, Diane C. Cody

Diane C. Cody, 75, a resident of Pawling for seven years after spending years of traveling between New York, South Carolina, and Florida, passed away on Monday, September 20, 2021 at Putnam Hospital in Carmel.

Diane was born in Manhattan on March 29, 1946, to the late Thomas and Helen (Knapp) Bell.  On July 31, 1965, she married John “Jack” M. Cody in Yonkers; Jack predeceased Diane on April 2, 2013.   Diane was an industrial clerk at Green Haven Correctional Facility in Stormville.

Diane loved animals and was an avid Patriots fan.  She liked to read and enjoyed doing puzzles and gardening.  Diane loved her many animals she cared for over the years, even cooking especially for them. She loved traveling with her husband and they traveled to many different places.  Diane was very generous and gave to many charities including Veterans organizations, as her husband was a veteran, as well as animal and police organizations.

Diane is survived by her son Patrick Cody Sr and wife Lisa of Pawling; daughter Charlene Norton and husband Floyd of Hopewell Junction; and son John Jr of Hyde Park; her sister Patricia Wayne and husband Fred of Dolgeville, NY; grandchildren Patrick Cody Jr and wife Lauren, Terrence Pizzuti and wife Christina, Brandon Pizzuti and fiancé Jennifer Ford, Lindsay Pizzuti, Sienna Cody and husband Stephen Peluse, and John and Noah Cody; great-grandchildren Cayden and Annalise Pizzuti; and many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents and husband, Diane is predeceased by brothers Thomas and Robert, sister Nancy, and her beloved grandson Michael Cody.

Friends and family may pay their respects to the family at Horn & Thomes, Inc. Funeral Home, 83 East Main Street, Pawling on Saturday, September 25th from 4-6pm. A funeral service will be held at 5:30pm. Please observe Covid protocol. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
