Greenwich, CT – Two men and a woman are facing a drug possession charge after the Jeep Wrangler they were riding in was involved in a rollover crash on Ritch Avenue near Byram Park.
When officers arrived in the area of 124 Ritch Ave. about 1 a.m. Wednesday, two of the three occupants were standing beside the Jeep that was resting on its side near a stone wall that lines the perimeter of the park, according to a police report.
The driver, identified as Michelle F. Dupuis, 29, o f 3 Crocker St., Greenwich, CT, and a passenger, James W. Graves, 32, of 352 Sharon Station, Amenia, NY, were standing outside the Jeep, according to the report. The other passenger, Kevin J. Moore, 33, of 24 Butler St., Cos Cob, “was standing upright with his feet on the front right door and his popping through the left front door.”
The Greenwich Fire Department extricated Moore from the vehicle. At that point, none of the three reported any injuries, according to the report.
According to the report, Dupuis said she lost control of the vehicle. Officers reported finding “a small amount of cocaine” which “all three occupants denied knowledge” of it being there. In the report, police said that when officers told the trio they were under arrest for illegal possession of narcotics, Dupuis and Graves “related that they needed medical attention.” They were taken to Greenwich Hospital where they were treated and released.
All three were charged with illegal possession. Dupuis also was ticketed for unsafe movement.
Police found there was an outstanding arrest warrant from Thomaston CT Police for Graves who was wanted on a charge of violation of a protective order.
Bond was set at $100 for each of the suspects. All were released except for Graves.
They all are scheduled to appear April 29 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
