Obituary, Linda Vincent Hoag

Linda Vincent Hoag, age 73, a longtime resident of Red River, NM passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on August 2, 2021, from cancer.

She is preceded in death by her parents Ralph and Evelyn Vincent.

She was born in Washington, DC on July 17, 1948 and was raised in Vienna, Virginia where she met her future husband in high school. Linda attended college courses at Purdue University and married John Hoag on August 26, 1972, and then both moved to Red River, NM.  Linda was the proud owner of Sundance Restaurant in Red River with her husband John and family since 1974 and served on community organizations including Town Council of Red River in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s.  She was the mother of two daughters, Sara Nora and Jenny Hawkes.  In early 2000, Linda began her art career in Taos, NM eventually joining the East Studio Art League.

Linda is survived by her husband John Hoag, her two daughters Sara Nora and Jenny Hawkes, and her two grandchildren Isabella Hawkes and Joaquin Hawkes and many other loving family and friends.

A Celebration of her life will be held on August 8, 2021, at Faith Mountain Fellowship Church at 2:30pm. Burial will take place in Pawling, NY on August 25th at 11 AM at Old Quaker Cemetery on Quaker Hill.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Linda’s name to My Brother’s Workshop, Inc, a non-profit in the USVI working with at-risk youth at www.mybrothersworkshop.org.
