Shirley Ann Chatfield, 79, a resident of Dover Plains, NY, formerly of Kent, CT, passed away on Sunday, July 11, 2021 at her home in Dover Plains. Heaven is getting an angel that will help pour out the rain.

Born on November 5, 1941 in New Milford, CT, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Lillian (Landry) Carter. On June 27, 1980 in New Milford, CT, she married Lynsley J. Chatfield who survives at home.

Mrs. Chatfield was a cook at The Kent in Kent, CT for 17 years. She was also an avid gardener and enjoyed crafts.

She is survived by four sons, Burton Foshay of Dover Plains, Joseph and Thomas Foshay both of Nevada, and David Foshay of Florida and three daughters, Elaine Ferno of New Milford, CT, Holly Cestone of Dover Plains and Sheri Eng of Washington State. She is also survived by a brother, Fred Carter, Jr., of Willet, NY; three sisters, Barbara Russo of Danbury, CT, Gertrude Carter of Bethel, CT and Ruth Mallark of California and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Chatfield was predeceased by a brother, Neil Carter and three sisters, Frieda Miller, Joyce Light and Noreen Parnell.

Calling hours will be held from 5-6:30 p.m. on Monday, July 19, 2021 at the Hufcut Funeral Home, 3159 Route 22, Dover Plains, NY. A Memorial service will follow at 6:30 p.m. with Rev.
