Stuff the Backpacks for Pawling Kids

The Pawling Resource Center is conducting its annual Stuff the Backpacks drive to provide children of Food Pantry clients with all the supplies needed to begin a successful new school year.

Each backpack is filled with grade level appropriate supplies based on lists of needs sent from school personnel. They are then grade labeled and waiting for students to come into the PRC to pick out the backpack that will help them get a running start into the fall semester.

Backpacks will be ready to claim during the month of August. The Center is now looking for the following items for this year’s drive: (*) designates most needed items.

  • Crayons, 24 pack
  • *Colored pencils
  • *Highlighters
  • Crayola Thick-tip Markers
  • *Thick & Thin Dry Erase Markers, box of 4
  • *Black dry erase markers
  • Pens, red, blue, black (no gel pens)
  • *Pencils, #2 Ticonderoga, box of 24
  • Plastic 5×8” Pencil Boxes
  • Zippered 3-hole Pencil pouches
  • Hand-held Pencil sharpeners
  • Pink Bevel Erasers
  • *1 1/2” & 2” Binders
  • Five-tab Dividers
  • *Heavy-duty Pocket Folders w/ plastic bottoms
  • *Heavy duty clear Page Protectors, packs of 25
  • *Wide rule Loose-leaf Paper
  • Jumbo Book Covers
  • *Glue Sticks
  • 3×5 lined Index cards
  • *Baby wipes
  • *Boxes of tissues
  • Headphones for IPAD use, and ear buds
  • *Addition and subtraction flash cards
  • Post it notes

The PRC will be happy to accept any donations of the above or dollar donations that can be designated for the purchase of these supplies. Donations of supplies may be brought to the Resource Center at 126 East Main Street in Pawling during regular business hours, Monday through Friday 10-4, and 2nd Saturdays 10-3.
