PRESS RELEASE
Cortlandt, New York – On June 29, 2021, the New York State Police in Cortlandt began investigating a report of a possible suicide attempt at the Bear Mountain Bridge in the town of Cortlandt.
Witnesses called Westchester County 911 prompting a response from the State Police, Park Police, Westchester County Police Department, the Continental Fire Department, and Peekskill Emergency Medical Services. Unfortunately, Jack J. Murphy, age 69, of Ossining, NY, was located deceased.
This investigation remains ongoing. No signs of foul play have been discovered at this time.
