Child abuse arrest in Copake

Copake, New York – On June 12, 2021, the New York State Police from the Livingston barracks in conjunction with the Columbia County Child protective Services, arrested Duane McCaul , age 38, and Nellie McCaul, age 39,  both of Copake, NY,  for one count each of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a class A misdemeanor, Unlawful Imprisonment 2nd, a class A misdemeanor and Reckless Endangerment 1st, a class D felony.

 

Investigation revealed that both McCaul and Brown handcuffed an 8 year old child to a bed frame on several occasions, and engaged in additional forms of child abuse.

Both subjucts were arraigned at the Town of Copake Court and were ordered to appear back at the town of Copake Court on June 14th, at 5:00 p.m.
