Obituary, Dea Lousie Stevenson

Dea Lousie Stevenson, 61, passed away at her home in Poughkeepsie, NY on May 25, 2021.

Born in Poughkeepsie on December 8, 1959, she was the daughter of the late David and Gladys (Sharp) Graham.  She received an Associates Degree in business and worked as a bookkeeper in Florida for Indian Lake Estates in Lake Wales before moving back to Poughkeepsie three years ago.

All her life she loved music, playing in the high school band and orchestra, and later in area country and rock bands; she played bass guitar and contra bass clarinet.  She also wrote poetry and was a gifted artist.

She is survived by her son, Theodore Owen, and two granddaughters, Marissa and Madeline Owen all of Old Saybrook, CT; two brothers, David Graham of Wingdale, NY and Danny Graham of Dover; and her sister, Daphne Graham of Pawling.  In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by two sisters, Darlene and Debbie, and her loving canine companion, Dixie.

Family and friends may pay their respects at the Horn & Thomes, Inc. Funeral Home, 83 East Main Street, Pawling Sunday, June 6th from 1-3 PM, with a service at 2:30.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Dutchess County SPCA, 636 Violet Avenue, Hyde Park, NY 12538.
