Maria Cabanas, 55, a resident of Wingdale, NY, passed away on Sunday, May 23, 2021 at New Milford Hospital in New Milford, CT. Maria was a kitchen aide at The Paramount at Somers Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
Born on September 26, 1965 in Puebla, Mexico she was the daughter of the late Graciano and Juana Vertiz. On November 11, 1989 in New York, NY she married Cruz Cabanas who survives at home.
In addition to her loving husband, Maria is survived by three children: David, Jazmin and Erik Cabanas all of Wingdale, NY. She is also survived by siblings: Juana Vertiz of Wingdale, Antonio Vertiz of Wingdale, German Vertiz of Pawling, Graciano Vertiz of Pawling, Jesus Vertiz of Copake and Matilda Vertiz of Mexico.
Calling hours will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 30, 2021 at the Hufcut Funeral Home, 3159 Route 22, Dover Plains, NY. Funeral services will take place at 2:30 p.m. at La Mesa, 12 Reimer Ave., Dover Plains, NY. Burial will follow at South Dover Rural Cemetery in Wingdale.
