PRESS RELEASE

On 04/21/15 the Orange County Child Abuse Unit. which is comprised of members from the New York State Police, Orange County Sheriff’s Office, Town of Warwick Police and Village of Goshen Police, arrested a 35 year old City of Newburgh man for the Class D Felony of Sexual Abuse 1st degree and the class A Misdemeanor of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

State Police arrested and charged ALFREDO LOPEZ, 35 years old of the City of Newburgh, N.Y. following an investigation of a report to the New York State Child Abuse Hotline. The investigation was conducted in conjunction with the Orange County Department of Social Services – Child Protective Services and it was revealed that Mr. Lopez, on numerous occasions over the course of several months touched the victim who was under the age of 13 years old in the sexual and/or intimate parts of the body. Mr. LOPEZ was familiar with the victim.

Mr.Lopez was arraigned before the Honorable City of Newburgh Judge Kulkin and remanded to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $25,000.00 cash bail or secured bond. Judge Kulkin ordered Mr.Lopez to reappear before the City of Newburgh Court on 04/22/15 at 8:30Am.
