Obituary

Sandra L.A. Dvorak, a resident of Amenia, NY, passed away on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at her home in Amenia. Mrs. Dvorak worked at the Vermont Department of Disabilities Division for the Blind and Visually Impaired. She was also a librarian assistant.

Born on August 17, 1960 in Burlington, VT, she was the daughter of the late Sherman and Rita (Hovey) Shover. Mrs. Dvorak was a graduate of Burlington High School Class of 1979 and attended Burlington College. On August 18, 2007 in Amenia, NY, she married Charles A. Dvorak who survives at home.

Mrs. Dvorak was a volunteer at the Wassaic Friendship Center and a Church Elder of the South Amenia Presbyterian Church in Amenia.

In addition to her loving husband, Mrs. Dvorak is survived by her daughter, Christina Kimball of Plainfield, VT and two sons, Joseph Sandvil and his wife, Denise, of Carthage, NY and Nicholas Dvorak of Baton Rouge, LA. She is also survived by a brother, James Shover of Lakeland, FL and six grandchildren, Allyson Mill, Logan Kimball, Evan Lee, Matthew, Jacob and Kelsey Sandvil.

Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, May 17, 2021 at the Hufcut Funeral Home, 3159 Route 22, Dover Plains, NY. Funeral services will take place at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at the funeral home with Rev. Zora Ficarra-Cheatham officiating. Burial will be private.
