Domestic violence arrest in Pleasant Valley

Pleasant Valley, New York – On April 27, 2021, the New York State Police from the Poughkeepsie barracks arrested Russell J. Hines, age 45, of Pleasant Valley, for Burglary in the 2nd degree, a class C felony, Robbery in the 3rd degree, a class D felony, Criminal Contempt in the 1st degree, a class E felony, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Criminal Mischief in the 4th degree (prevention of an emergency call), both class A misdemeanors, and Reckless Endangerment, a class B misdemeanor.

Investigation revealed Russell Hines on March 10, 2021, illegally entered the dwelling of the victim and initiated a physical domestic.  During the incident Hines destroyed property inside the residence, and physically assaulted the victim while stealing the cell phone with which the victim was trying to call 911 for help.  An active order of protection was also in place in favor or the victim.

Hines was arraigned before the Honorable Judge Sears of the town of Pleasant Valley Court and remanded to Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail, $75,000 secure bond, or $200,000 partially secure bond.   He is next scheduled to appear before the court on April 30, 2021, at 11:00 a.m.
